Brake drum

The brake drum should have enough strength, stiffness and heat capacity to match the friction lining material.
There should be a higher friction factor. The brake drum has two kinds of casting and combination. The cast brake drum is mostly used with grey cast iron, which has the advantages of easy mechanical processing, wear-resisting and high thermal capacity. In order to prevent the brake drum from being deformed when working, the rib is cast in the circumference of the brake drum, which is used to strengthen the stiffness and increase the effect of heat dissipation. Accurate calculation of the thickness of the brake drum wall is both complicated and difficult, so it is often selected according to experience. The thickness of the car brake drum wall is 7 - 12mm, and the freight car is 13 - 18mm. The brake drum is the inner side of the tire and the side of the car's chassis. Some cars can be seen through the rim of the tire, but some of the steel rings are solid, and the tire will be clear if they are removed. The tyres should be screwed to the "brake drum".
But one thing is that most of the braking systems of the present cars are drums behind the front plates, and some of them are called drums, so you have to see and see the rear wheels clearly.
